I use most social media platforms including, Instagram, Facebook, snapchat, twitter, vsco, tiktok etc. I use them to create visually appealing content and to share photos with my friends and family, but also to communicate to others through social media. I also use platforms like twitter to see how people feel about what is going on in the world. For tiktok, I use that as an entertainment platform. It is so easy to get addicted to it and stay up for hours watching people make silly videos. Looking at all these platforms we can see that they are all used to communicate to people and to share content like photos, videos or messages. They are all very alike, but do have their differences. For example, Instagram is a very public thing. You let a lot of people follow you to see your photos that are appropriate to be seen. However, on snapchat you are sending photos but it is to individual people so that makes it more private. Facebook is more formal in a sense. It is the platform I have my family members connected to so I announce achievements or exciting news on it. Overall, a pattern I see on these social media platforms is that they are influenced by social construct, so whatever you see other people posting or behaving like on these accounts and in the world is how you are going to shape your profile and attitude on them yourselves. Likes and approval is very important in the world and especially on social media which definitely affects how we use and view social media platforms today.
